Mart Hill, who at 104 years old was the oldest living graduate of Florida State College for Women – now Florida State University – is described by those who knew her as a “force of nature.”And after living a long life of public service, she passed early morning on New Year’s Day but left behind a legacy in the Tallahassee community and at FSU that dates to her time as a young college student. Hill's daughter Almena Petit says Hill was very “healthy and bright” to the end, recalling her sense of humor and how they played bridge together less than two weeks before she died. “She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was very giving to the community,” Petit told the Tallahassee Democrat. “She was an educated person who valued education very much, and she was funny and witty – she always had something sassy to say.” Read More
